The Impact of a Comprehensive Approach to Student Suicide Prevention
Thursday October 10, 2024 8:30am - 9:30am PDT
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people 10-34, and rates have been rising for the last decade, especially among particular groups such as Black youth. New impact data shows that students at schools that have completed The Jed Foundation’s JED Campus program are 25% less likely to have attempted suicide over the past year. This session will discuss what works to prevent youth suicide and how K-12 school districts, high schools, and colleges, can implement policies and programs that save lives.

Participants will be able to describe the key domains that have been shown through research to prevent youth suicides.

Participants will have a better understanding of the steps schools can take to decrease suicide rates.
