About me
Dr. Erin Sherard started working at North Orange Continuing Education (NOCE) as a Parenting instructor in 2015. Sherard came to NOCE with a wealth of teaching and guidance experience ranging from preschool teacher, K-12 substitute teacher, junior high school academic counselor, and higher education adjunct faculty member, to roles with the California Adult Education Program (CAEP) as a professional expert and special projects manager. Sherard holds a bachelor’s degree in child and adolescent development from California State University, Fullerton, and a master’s degree in academic counseling and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from National University, and an educational doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Liberty University. Dr. Sherard has trained in trauma-informed practices for over a decade and her doctorate level research was centered around breaking intergenerational cycles of trauma. Outside of her professorship, Sherard serves as the Chief Connection Officer for Essential Connections, an organization dedicated to trauma-informed and trauma-responsive professional development.
