As the Deputy Executive Director for the California Association of School Counselors (CASC).
Dr. Jami Parsons oversees professional development and LEA outreach, and supports
advocacy efforts for the school counseling profession. Prior to this role, she served as a
Director, Educational Services at the Orange County Department of Education for nine years.
In that role, she supervised teams who support CA MTSS, Student Services, Mental Health,
Community Schools and Continuous Improvement. She also served as one of the state project
leads for the CA MTSS initiative, a 95 million dollar initiative which has provided support to
schools and districts across California over the last eight years.
Dr. Parsons received her Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of
Southern California and has more than 29 years of experience in education as a County and
School Site Level Administrator and as a School Counselor. She has also served as adjunct
faculty at several universities including Cal State University, Long Beach, Chapman University
and Concordia University in their graduate programs for School Counseling.
