About me
I serve as the Parent & Family Liaison for Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Support for the Whole Child & Community Design department at the San Diego County Office of Education. I lead SEL workshops for families in addition provide technical support to schools and districts. My work focuses on strengthening parents' knowledge and capacity while restructuring systems to implement the Whole-Child Design model. I act as a bridge between parents, caregivers, schools, and districts, ensuring families have access to vital resources intended for their child's holistic development.
I am also the creator and co-producer of the groundbreaking "Parenting the Whole Child" podcast, co-hosted with Dr. Christobelle Tan and Dr. Felicia Singleton. This podcast was developed to reach families beyond the classroom walls, shares authentic and vulnerable insights, spotlights the complexities of parenting in diverse environments, and offers support and guidance to listeners navigating their own parenting paths.
Previously, I served as the Library & Wellness Community Coordinator at e3 Civic High School and as the Community Relations Facilitator for the Sweetwater Union High School District. Over my twelve years in education, I have collaborated with non-profits and stakeholders to provide empowering programs and resources to parents and students in the Chula Vista and San Diego communities. I am also an active member of multiple Action Boards, collaborating with others to dismantle barriers for marginalized populations. My advocacy is deeply inspired by my experiences as a mother of three resilient children, now ages 16, 14, and 13.
